Pastoral Care

At Ysgol Friars, we are committed to supporting the emotional wellbeing of every pupil. We recognise that young people thrive when they feel safe, understood, and supported, and our pastoral care system is designed to provide that foundation.

Each year group has a dedicated Head of Year who offers emotional support, guidance, and a consistent point of contact for pupils and families:

• Year 7 – Ms S Nicol
• Year 8 – Vacant Post
• Year 9 – Ms D Wood
• Year 10 – Ms D Burns
• Year 11 – Ms C Meredith

In addition, our Progress Leaders have an overview of the support across each year group and act as a further point of contact for pupils needing guidance or help:

• Year 7 – Mr T Wilkes
• Year 8 – Mr G Bellfield
• Year 9 – Ms T Jones
• Year 10 – Ms A Blackham
• Year 11 – Ms J Singleton

Together, our pastoral team works to ensure that every pupil feels heard and supported. Whether it's help with friendships, managing emotions, or navigating personal challenges, we are here to provide the care and attention each pupil deserves.
